Week 4: The Benefits and Risks of Jameis Winston’s Aggression

Jameis Winston’s performance against Arizona gave Giants fans plenty to discuss. He threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns, but also threw two interceptions in the 36–24 victory.

Those numbers explain the central debate: how much risk should the Giants accept in exchange for explosive offensive opportunities?

I think the team needs a balance. An overly cautious offence can struggle to threaten a defence, but unnecessary turnovers can undo an otherwise productive afternoon. Taking a chance on a favourable matchup is different from forcing a throw when the defence has it covered.

My preference would be to keep the aggressive approach while making the easy completion a bigger part of the plan. The Giants do not need every pass to become a highlight. Sometimes the best throw simply keeps the drive alive.
